Our Senior Pastor is Shaun McGregor

Shaun and his family have been in Kurrajong since February 2005. He previously worked as an Assistant Minister in Wollongong. Before that Shaun studied at Moore Theological College in Newtown. In the years before college he worked as a Nurses’ Aid and completed a Science degree.

Shaun is married to Danielle and together they have 5 children – Annie, Isaac, Bethany, Hamish and Elijah.

Shaun loves seeing the message of Jesus come alive as people understand the Bible for themselves. His ideal day off would start with pancakes for breakfast, a game of soccer or tennis with the kids, followed by a bike ride to a short bushwalk to a spectacular waterfall; then some down time in the afternoon finishing off a good book, before dropping down to the beach for a quick swim, and rounding it all off with pizza and a good movie at home with Danielle. The ideal day off doesn’t happen all that often!

Our Assistant Pastor is David Philpott

David grew up in Wollongong where he worked in the IT industry for 11 years.  He then studied at Moore Theological College for 4 years.  Since college he has worked as an assistant minister at West Wollongong and he moved to Kurrajong in November 2007.

David is married to Stephanie and they have two children, Matthew and Jessica.

David is passionate about seeing people come to know Jesus as their Lord and Saviour, and growing to maturity in their faith.  He loves teaching the Bible and training people in ministry.  David also loves spending time with his family, especially going for picnics.  Both David and Stephanie enjoy eating out.  In his spare time, you can find David cheering on his three favourite sporting teams – Carlton (AFL), Parramatta (NRL) and the Australian cricket team.

If David was down to his last $5 he would buy some chocolate for his wife (and probably then eat it himself).

Our Children's Ministry Trainee is Rebecca Bush

Rebecca spent her childhood in Albany, Western Australia and later studied a Bachelor of Science (Occupational Therapy) at Curtin, the University of Technology, graduating in 2008. She relocated to Richmond in January 2009 with her husband, Reuben, who serves as an Aircraft Technician in the RAAF. Rebecca is also employed part-time as an Occupational Therapist at the Hawkesbury District Health Service.
Rebecca thoroughly enjoys ministering to children, especially their joy and enthusiasm for all things new and bright. She loves teaching them the truths about God and his love for them.
Rebecca takes great pleasure in walks through the bush (complete with a picnic), was an avid beach-goer (prior to moving to Richmond) and can be happily buried in a historical romance novel. Tending plants in the garden and creating yummy things to eat are also favourites. Rebecca is also known for her uncommon method of transport to work, that being a pushbike, and ‘misplacing’ her engagement ring twice, once in the compost and once in Wheeny Creek!

     Stephen and Bethany Bell

Stephen and Bethany have left Shellharbour City Centre Anglican to continue their training in ministry among the people of Kurrajong Anglican Church. Stephen is his third year (of four) of a Bachelor of Divinity at Moore Theological College while Bethany is studying a Diploma of Biblical Studies and works full-time as an environmental scientist.

Steve had studied Physics at the University of Wollongong and was working at the Science Centre and Planetarium when his life took a fairly significant detour. A work colleague invited him to a young adults games night, and within three months he recognised Jesus Christ as Lord. A desire to share this great news about Jesus with others led to doing a ministry training apprenticeship with the Christian student group at the university, and then to studying at Moore College.

Steve’s current interests include computer games, the doctrine of Scripture, science-fiction, watching cricket, Old Testament wisdom literature, KFC and his wife (not in order of importance).
