Kurrajong Anglican Church
MISSION, VISION & VALUES STATEMENT
MISSION STATEMENT
To proclaim God's Word so that people become
mature followers of Jesus Christ.
VISION STATEMENT
Recognising that God alone calls and saves, we
want to see at least 10% of the Kurrajong Parish in Bible-believing
churches by 2012, meeting at least half that need ourselves.

STATEMENT OF CORE VALUE
(Bible references here are indicative,
rather than designed to exhaust what could be said.)
- We value the Christ-centred,
systematic explanation and application of the Bible. (2 Timothy
3:16-4:2)
- We value evangelism because lost people
matter to God. (Luke 15:7, 19:10)
- We value church meetings which are ordered,
intelligible, participatory and welcoming. (1 Corinthians
14:19,24-26,33,40)
- We value training all church members for
ministry. (Ephesians 4:11-12, 16)
- We value oversight of our church exercised
by an eldership of men of godly character. (1 Timothy 3:1-7,
5:17)
- We value constructive feedback and review
of our activities, especially in light of God's Word. (1
Thessalonians 5:21)
- We value learning and caring together,
especially in the context of 'growth group' Bible studies.
(Hebrews 3:12-14)
- We value ministry to people of all life
situations, with special attention to children and youth. (1
Timothy 5:1-2, Luke 18:15-16)
- We value loving commitment to Christ and
his Church family from every believer. (Matthew 10:37-38)
- We value growth both in godliness and in
numbers of those truly converted to Christ. (Colossians
1:3-6)
KEY ASPIRATIONAL VALUES
(which we believe ought to become core
values)
- We aspire to greater
prayerfulness. (Colossians 4:2)
- We aspire to greater support of, and
involvement in, world-wide mission. (Mark 13:10)
- We aspire to biblically based innovation,
creativity and cultural flexibility in ministry. (1 Corinthians
9:19-22)
OUR DOCTRINAL BASIS
We are an evangelical Anglican church. This
means we hold to the ultimate authority and sufficiency of the Bible
in all matters of faith and practice; and that we are bound by the
doctrine expressed in the 39
Articles of Religion.
For simplicity, we find the doctrinal basis of
IFES (International Fellowship of Evangelical Students ) to be a good,
modern summary of our fundamental beliefs.
- The unity of the Father, Son and Holy
Spirit in the Godhead.
- The sovereignty of God in creation,
revelation, redemption and final judgement.
- The divine inspiration and entire
trustworthiness of Holy Scripture, as originally given, and its
supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.
- The universal sinfulness and guilt of all
people since the fall, rendering them subject to God's wrath and
condemnation.
- Redemption from the guilt, penalty,
dominion and pollution of sin, solely through the sacrificial
death (as our Representative and Substitute) of the Lord Jesus
Christ, the incarnate Son of God.
- The bodily resurrection of the Lord Jesus
Christ from the dead and His ascension to the right hand of God
the Father.
- The presence and power of the Holy Spirit
in the work of regeneration.
- The justification of the sinner by the
grace of God through faith alone.
- The indwelling and work of the Holy Spirit
in the believer.
- The one Holy Universal Church which is the
Body of Christ and to which all true believers belong.
- The expectation of the personal return of
the Lord Jesus Christ.
