G: The plane my family were on, while immigrating to Australia, crash landed
in Manila.
R: We have a 16yr old daughter, Emma, who comes to the 7pm service.
G: Fact not fiction. If it
isn’t true I can’t be bothered. Currently – If I Was, the Midge
Ure autobiography.
R: Mostly non-fiction. Rarely cover to cover. Currently – Boost Your Child’s
Immune
System (A.Niec-Oszywa) and Here I am Lord…Send Somebody Else! (J.Briscoe).
I’m also reading the Narnia series to Sarah. I love C.S.Lewis’ allegoric genius.
Who would you like to sit next to on a long journey ?
G: Someone with good personal
habits.
R: My husband. We always have our best discussions on long journeys when
there’s as much time for silence as for speaking.
G: $20 for filling a 10 tonne
truck with chicken poo.
R: Duplicating and packaging cassette tapes for my uncle.
Do you have a favourite web site / TV programme / radio programme ?
G: Thunderbirds. There’s just
something about that show.
R: Not really. We’re watching Lost and I really liked The Apprentice.
If you could have your choice of occupation, what would you be ?
G: V8 Supercar driver – Holden
of course.
R: Public speaker, maybe writer. I like structured thinking and logical
arguments.
Could you tell us about your most embarrassing moment ?
G: It’s hard to be embarrassed
when you’re laughing so hard yourself.
R: I was a bit of a sports ignoramus before I married Gareth. I once asked a
work
colleague if The Melbourne Cup was “That big boat race?”
Who on earth inspires you ?
G: People who love others till
it hurts.
R: Ordinary people who have the gifts of compassion and generosity – attributes
I
aspire to but lack a natural inclination for!
If you could do something in heaven that you do on earth, what would it be ?
G: Play cricket. I hear
Bradman will be there. A few overs with him will suffice.
R: Share the joy of belonging to God with my children.
